JUMPING DAY INSTRUCTIONS

Jumping Day is an interactive e-book.

It is designed to help beginning readers practice their reading skills.

As the learner looks at each story page in Jumping Day, three choices are always available:

[1] The learner can hear the story page read aloud.

[2] The learner can hear a single word read aloud.

[3] The learner can go to the next page -- or back to the previous page.

The learner does this by clicking the mouse arrow, as follows:

If the learner wants to hear the story page read aloud, the mouse arrow should be clicked on the small pink box which says Read Aloud.

If the learner wants to hear a single word read aloud, the mouse arrow should be clicked on that word in the story.

If the learner wants to go to the next page, the mouse arrow should be clicked on the box with arrows pointing to the right.

If the learner wants to go back to the previous page, the mouse arrow should be clicked on the box with arrows pointing to the left.

If the learner wants to go back to the beginning of the story, the mouse arrow should be clicked on the home box.

If the remaining box -- the one with the question mark -- is clicked with the mouse arrow, the Jumping Day Instructions will appear.

It is recommended that the Jumping Day story be worked with until the learner can read all of it aloud.
