Maureen McCormick squeals on the Brady Boys

Hi! Maureen McCormick here-and I've got some fun for you! Lots of you write and ask me what the Brady boys are really like. What's their favorite food? Do they like to tease girls? Are they as nice as they seem on TV? Well, Barry, Chris and Mike don't know about this---but I am about to squeal on them! Get ready to learn the truth about those fabulous, terrific, lovable Brady boys!!

Barry Williams
What can I say about Barry except that he's the greatest?! He's got a really terrific personality-always making jokes and being friendly and smiling his fantastic smile. Barry has a sunshine personality-all kinds of things make him smile and feel good. He's happy when he feels he's done his best on a scene or when he's with his friends or family. And Barry's super-happy when he is surfing! It could be 10 degrees below zero and Barry would be out on his surfboard. He's always surfing-no matter what the weather! Lately, Barry has been on "cloud nine," cause he just got his own car-a Capri hardtop. Give Barry his car and his surfboard and he wouldn't ask for anything more! Except food! Gee, can this boy eat-especially yogurt and milk!

There's a food wagon on Paramount-Gower lot and every ten minutes Barry runs out to it. He must eat about 20 sandwiches a day-I mean it! His favorite is egg sandwich with ham-but any kind of sandwich will do! Another thing about Barry is that he is a terrific student. He's in the eleventh grade and his favorite subjects are French and history. He likes history because it's factual and truthful. And that's a big thing with Barry's-truthfulness. Only two things really bug him-people who aren't friendly and people who aren't honest. Barry's so honest and friendly and-well, just plain great-that I can't imagine anyone not being friendly and truthful with him! Can You?!

Chris Knight
Chris is a doll! He's easy going, has a great sense of humor-and he's a gentleman. Chris always opens doors for a girl and helps her on with her coat-it's so nice! He's a terrible tease too, but only with his pals-and that includes his girl pals, like me! Chris's favorite hobby right now is teasing me about my crushes on Mike Cole and John Philport of the Bugaloos! But if Chris has a crush on a girl-he'll never tease her! Chris has two favorite passions-the color orange-bright, bright orange and football. Chris also likes to play with a yo-yo and he's very good at it-and he likes math and science in school (he's in the eighth grade)! The big thing about Chris, the thing you'd notice first-is his love for food. That's his all-time favorite thing! As much as Barry eats, Chris eats more! He's got the biggest appetite of any one person I ever saw! He just eats and eats-and never gets fat! Anything you put down in front of him - hamburgers, enchiladas, chocolate - Chris gobbles up! Just say "food" and his eyes light up! How come these guys can eat so much and not gain weight? It's just not fair to us girls!!

Mike Lookinland
Every time I see Mike, I just want to hug him! He's the sweetest, most lovable guy in the world! He's a good guy too. He's happy when other people are happy. Mike is constantly teasing and pulling off practical jokes, so that he can see people smile and hear them laugh. Mike has this adorable habit of always saying "howdee" to people-just like a cowboy! His favorite hobbies are collecting model cars and being with Susie Olsen! These two Brady Bunch-ers have become very good friends and they're always together. Mike is very close to his family too. After dinner, the Lookinlands usually have a songfest instead of watching TV. That's another thing about Mike-he's very musical. He takes piano lessons and if there's a piano in a room, Mike will find it. He plays like Liberace-really, that's how good he is! I think Mike surpasses both Barry and Chris in the food department!! His favorite foods are carrots, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and most of all-chocolate milk shakes! Mike's always the first one of us to finish lunch. He does this so that he can get to a nice, rich, sweet dessert! He just loves sweets!! Well, now you know about the Brady boys. They're three different guys with their own personalities, but they're all alike in their friendliness, their niceness and-in their love of food!!
