The MRF Top Loading Laboratory Furnace System comes to your lab preprogrammed and ready to run as soon as your basic utilities have been connnected. All water/gas plumbing and wiring are done at the factory and your system arrives fully tested and ready to run.

The basic furnace system consists of the high vacuum chamber and heat zone assembly, power supply, vacuum system, and control console. All these elements are brought together and housed in an attractive package that will complement any facility.

The furnace system can be customized to meet the most demanding applications. Controls can vary from simple, discreet, programmable temperature controllers to graphically orientated loop & logic computer controls.

The basic furnace has a tungsten refractory metal hot zone. The heating element is of a tungsten mesh design. The shielding is layered tungsten sheet.

All hot zone components are easily accessed for service. Sight ports and thermocouple ports are provided. Additional ports can be supplied at your request.

Power feed through ports and the vacuum port are located on the bottom and are housed, along with gas and water plumbing, in the cabinet base.

The standard vacuum system consists of an ISO 80 diffusion pumping system complete with a multi-coolant baffle and electropneumatic high vacuum valve. Vacuum levels are monitored using an ionization gauge controller.

Evacuation systems are available for operation in the 10-2 Torr range and for evacuation of the hot zone prior to backfilling with your desired inert gas.

Gas systems are available for a variety of process gases. Please consult with the factory for special applications or requests.

The power supply is designed to accommodate a ramp rate of 50-80 deg. C/minute, up to operating temperature. Three phase SCR control provides an economical and efficient means of modulating power to the heating element in a reliable and accurate fashion. Water cooled power cables supply the power to the heating element from the main step down transformer and volt & amp meters are supplied to visually monitor the power the furnace is using.
