Louise Berreau was the youngest daughter of Frederick Berreau and Antonette Hacke. She migrated with her parents from Westfalen, Germany, in the late 1800s to America, settling around Waconia, Minnesota, where her older siblings had prepared a place for them.

Louise married twice. Her first marriage was to Frederick Rodeck of St Paul, who had been married previously to a woman named Louisa. Louise and Frederick had one daughter, Louise Rodeck.

After Frederick's death, Louise married a second time to Joseph Thomas Kerker. They had several children.
