Maxine Van Keuren was born on 27 Oct 1920 in St Paul, Minnesota. She died in June about 1993, in Syracuse, New York. She was the third child of

Maxine married Raymond Vincent Becker, also from Minnesota. Max and Ray had two children: Maxine and Ray lived with their family on several farms near Watertown and Elk River, Minnesota, for many years. At Elk River, they lived on a farm southeast of town that contained a memorial and house of one of the founders of the Grange.

They moved into the town of Elk River, and lived there for many years. In the late 1960s, they moved to Syracuse, New York, where Maxine's brother Bob lived. They lived there the rest of their lives.

Maxine was a highly intelligent woman with a strong determination. She joined a number of organizations and helped with charitable efforts. She was also an excellent cook. Max and Ray lived for many years in a former school building owned by the American Legion, and finally moved to a house on James Ave. in Syracuse. Their daughter Pat lived with them and cared for her father Ray after Maxine's death.
