There was a family tradition that the father of Matthys Jansen van Keulen was Cornelius van Keulen (also Ceulen)

Cornelius was an artist. They lived on the island of Ten Schilling off the northern coast of Holland. They had a large family. However, since Matthys Jansen van Ceulen's patrynomic was "Jansen", it would seem that his father's name should be "Jan".
