American Idiomatic English

This program is designed for persons who have learned standard textbook English, but who do not know American idioms (e.g., smoke and mirrors, in a pig's eye, as the crow flies, etc.).

Digitized human speech is used throughout each lesson. Whenever the learner wishes to have the computer repeat what it has said, a Repeat Button can be clicked.

The computer evaluates every keystroke by the learner. No incorrect entries are allowed.

If the learner gets "stuck" and needs help, a Help Button can be clicked. The computer will then reveal the right answer. But the learner must still type it in.

The learner is always tested on what is being taught. At the end of every testing sequence, the computer identifies the specific errors - if any - that were made, and what the correct responses should have been.
