Overview:
MAIL (VMS Mail Facility) allows the salesperson to send and receive electronic mail.
In addition, the salesperson can look at reports other sales people have made on their day's progress. This is valuable, for example, when technical support has contacted the salesperson's prospects and the salesperson wants to learn how the prospect was helped.
It is useful to read your mail for the day before you make your status
report.
F.1 To CHECK for Similar Prospects
The Sales System has a feature that prevents the costly waste of time occurring when two salespeople mistakenly work on the same account.
To check to see if a prospect is an account record that belongs to another salesperson, at the Master Menu Item prompt, enter CHE:

Next, you are prompted for the organization name. At the organization prompt, enter the name:

Then, you are prompted for the phone number. At the phone prompt, enter the phone number:
GROVE Check for Conflicts Organization: XYZ LABS Phone? (914) 679-2222 EXIT=Exit Advanced Telesales System \=BACK HELP=Help |
Any account records with the same organization name and phone number then appear. In the example below, there are no conflicts and the account belongs to GROVE:
