Chapter 6
READIM - Reading Instant Messages

There are times when the General Office will be sending out messages to one or more affiliate users. These messages are called "instant messages".

When you log on to ULTRA, you will be notified of any new instant messages that have been sent to you. You are also notified of any new messages when you exit a menu item. If you do not read your new instant messages right away, you will be reminded that you have new unread messages.

6.1 New Instant Messages

If you have any new instant messages, the system will tell you how many messages you have. The system will also display a menu of instant message information which shows the date sent, topic, and who sent the message. For example:

 +-------------------------------Select Message-------------------------------+
 | |
 | Received Topic From |

To read an instant message, just select that message.

If you do not want to read the message at this time, you can press <ESC> to exit the instant message procedure.

After you select the message that you want to read, the screen clears, and the message information is displayed. For example:

This is a test message regarding member dues.
