Note

When adding the name of an organization a person's title, the computer will accept only certain abbreviations. If you enter an unacceptable abbreviation, the data will default to the acceptable version.

Next, this new information appears on the right-hand side of your screen as a part of the new record:

11.5 To CHANGE Information

Before you make any changes that the salesperson has requested:

The Operator is NOT authorized to make changes in the COMMENT section after the operator has made the initial comments at the time the prospect was first established in the sales database.

Example of a Change in a Prospect Record:

Suppose you want to change the technical contact for XYZ Labs from Larry Wood to Dave Hopkins.

To change information, choose the CHANGE item. At the Menu Item prompt, enter CHA:

Next, you are given a choice of four ways to look up a prospect record. Some operators prefer to call up a prospect record by phone number, as this avoids having to choose among similar company names.

To look at a record by phone number, enter 4:

Next, you are prompted to enter the phone number. Enter the 10-digit phone number for XYZ Labs. This phone number should be on the information sheet given to you by the salesperson.

Since you want to change the technical contact from Larry Wood to Dave Hopkins, advance to the technical contact line, using the <RETURN> key. Type in Dave Hopkins over Larry Wood.

Your new line will read:

11.6 To DELETE a Prospect Account Record

To delete a prospect account record, at the Operator Menu prompt, enter DEL:
