To delete the record, enter Y; otherwise, enter N. When the record has been deleted, a message will appear: "Record deleted".

11.7 To INQUIRE about a Prospect Record

Example:

Suppose you need to look up the record of a prospect, XYZ labs. You want to check to see if you recorded a purchase order number for your product. The contact person you have dealt with is Ellen Jensen.

To inquire about the record for XYZ Labs, at the Master Menu Item prompt, enter INQ:

Next, you see the first screen used to inquire about a prospect. You can look up the prospect four ways. This is useful, for instance, when you can remember the contact person's name but not the exact spelling of the company name. To look up the prospect by the NAME of the contact person of the organization, at the Key field sequence prompt, enter 1:

Next, you are prompted for the Name of the contact person in the organization. Since you know XYZ Lab's contact person is Ellen Jensen, enter her name at the name value prompt:

11.8 To ADD a Prospect Product

You may also be requested by a salesperson to enter a new product for a prospect.

Example:

A salesperson may ask you to add a product in addition to the WIDGETS product you already have listed for a prospect. You may be asked to list, for example, INTOUCH, the Next Generation database language.

To add a product, at the Master Menu Item prompt, enter ACP:

Next, you are given a choice of four ways to look up the prospect, in order to enter the new product.

At the key field sequence prompt, enter a number. For example, if you want to look up the prospect by the name of the contact person, enter 1:

Next, you are prompted to enter the name of the customer to whose record you want to add the product:

Next, you see the Add screen for adding a product. You see that the customer already has the product, WIDGETS. To add a product, e.g., INTOUCH, choose the default (press [RETURN]).
