WAGEMAINT - Wage Code Maintenance

The WAGEMAINT - Wage Code Maintenance menu option is used by affiliates to set up wage rates. Wage rate codes and amounts can be set up by each affiliate according to their needs.

The WAGEMAINT menu option allows you to create and maintain wage rate records.

This chapter explains how to add, change, and delete wage rate records, and how to get listings of wage rate data.

97.1 Wage Rate Input Screen

After WAGEMAINT is selected from the menu, the wage rate code maintenance screen is displayed.

Wage Rate Code Maintenance Options

After the wage rate code maintenance screen is displayed, you are asked for the maintenance option you want to perform.

The wage code maintenance options are:
  Add Wage Code add wage rate records
  Change Wage Code change data in wage rate records
  Delete Wage Code delete wage rate records
  List Wage Codes get listings of current or all wage rate records

Select the appropriate maintenance option.

97.2 Adding Wage Code Records

After you select the "Add Wage Code" option, the following screen is displayed:

The following sections describe the prompts displayed when a wage rate record is added.

Affiliate ID

Note: If you are a local affiliate user, the affiliate ID and name are displayed, and this prompt is skipped.



 ADD: Affiliate ID? ________ 

If a default affiliate ID is provided and it is correct, you can press [Enter] to accept the default.

The affiliate ID is required. The affiliate must be an active affiliate, and exist in the affiliate file.

You can enter the affiliate number which is a number from 1 to 99999, or enter the entire affiliate ID.

After the affiliate ID is entered, the affiliate name is displayed.

Wage Rate Code

You are asked for the new wage rate code.



 ADD: Wage code? __________ 

Enter the wage rate code you want to set up.

The code can be up to 10 characters in length.

Note: Once the wage rate code record has been created/added, the wage code name can NOT be changed.

Wage Rate Code Description

You are asked for the wage rate code description.



 ADD: Description? ______________________________ 

Enter the description of this wage rate code.

The description can be up to 30 characters in length.

Start Date

You are asked for the start date. This is the date when this wage rate code goes into effect.

For example, you could have a wage rate code that is in effect for the period of January 1, 1999 through December 31, 2000. You can have two or more wage rate code records with the same name. However, each record much cover a different date range, and the dates can NOT overlap.



 ADD: Start date (MMDDYYYY)? ________ 

Enter the start date in MMDDYYYY format.

The start date is required.

End Date

You are asked for the end date. This is the last date that this wage rate code will be in effect.



 ADD: End date (MMDDYYYY or NEVER)? ________ 

Enter the end date in MMDDYYYY format, or enter "NEVER" if you want this wage rate code to continue into infinity.

Total Hourly Amount

You are asked for the total hourly wage rate amount.



 ADD: Total hourly amount? ________ 

Enter the total hourly amount as a dollar amount.

For example, if the amount is $20.00, you can enter: 20 or 20.00

Used On Dispatch

Nothing is entered for "Used on Dispatch". This flag field will be set to "No" when a new wage rate code is added. If this wage rate code is used later in dispatch, this flag field will be set to "Yes".

Wage Rate Breakdown

You are asked if you want to enter information about how the wage rate is allocated. Entering wage rate breakdown data is optional.

If "Yes", you will be asked for the breakdown amounts and descriptions.

If "No", this part of the entry procedure is skipped.

Breakdown Amount

You are asked for the first breakdown amount.

As an example, $.10 might be allocated to the insurance fund. In this case, you would enter ".10" as the breakdown amount.

A message tells you how much remains to be allocated.

Enter the first breakdown amount.

Breakdown Description

You are asked what the breakdown amount is for.



 ADD: Breakdown 1 for? ____________________ 

The breakdown description can be up to 20 characters in length.

You can enter up to 10 breakdown amounts and descriptions.

If you have less than 10 breakdown entries, you can press the [F12] key at any time, to exit breakdown entry.

Add Wage Rate Code

You are asked if you want to add this wage rate code record.

Select "Yes" to add this wage code record.

Select "No" to go back to the previous prompt.

Press <ESC> to abort this wage code entry.

If "Yes", this wage rate code record is added to the wage code file, and you can continue adding records.

When you have finished adding wage rate code records, press <F2> or <ESC> to return to the wage code maintenance options menu.

97.3 Changing Wage Rate Code Records

After you select the "Change Wage Code" option, if you are NOT a "local" affiliate user, you are asked for the affiliate ID. This is the affiliate ID of the local you want to perform changes for.

If you ARE a "local" affiliate user, the affiliate number and name are displayed, and this prompt is skipped.

A menu of the wage rate codes is displayed. For example:

Select the wage rate code item that you want to change.

After you make your selection, the data for that wage code is displayed. For example:

You can change all of the wage rate code data, except for the wage code name. If you want to change the wage code name, you will need to delete the current wage code record and add a record with the new name.

Change Wage Rate Code Y/N

After you have completed the changes to the wage code record, you are asked if you actually want to make the changes.

Select "Yes" to change this wage rate code record.

Select "No" to go back to the previous prompt.

Press <ESC> to abort this wage code change.

If "Yes", this wage code record is changed, and you can continue changing other records.

When you have finished changing wage rate code records, press <F2> or <ESC> to return to the wage code maintenance options menu.

97.4 Deleting Wage Rate Code Records

After you select the "Delete Wage Code" option, if you are NOT a "local" affiliate user, you are asked for the affiliate ID. This is the affiliate ID of the local you want to delete records for.

If you ARE a "local" affiliate user, the affiliate number and name are displayed, and this prompt is skipped.

A menu of the wage rate codes is displayed. For example:

Select the wage rate code item that you want to delete.

After you make your selection, the data for that wage code is displayed. For example:

Delete Wage Code Y/N

After the wage rate code data is displayed, you are asked if you actually want to delete this record.

Note: If the wage rate code has been used in dispatch, you will NOT be allowed to delete this wage code.

Select "Yes" to delete this wage rate code record.

Select "No" to go back to the list of wage code records.

Press <ESC> to abort this delete procedure.

If "Yes", this wage rate code record is deleted, and you can continue deleting other wage code records.

When you have finished deleting wage rate code records, press <F2> or <ESC> to return to the wage code maintenance options menu.

97.5 Listing Wage Rate Code Records

You can get a report listing of the wage rate code records by selecting the "List Wage Codes" option.

After you select the "List Wage Codes" option, if you are NOT a "local" affiliate user, you are asked for the affiliate ID. This is the affiliate ID of the local you want to list wage code records for.

If you ARE a "local" affiliate user, the affiliate number and name are displayed, and this prompt is skipped.

Codes Selection

You are asked which codes you want listed on the report.

Select "Current Wage Codes" if you want to include only the wage rate codes that are currently in effect, on the report.

Select "All Wage Codes" to get a report of ALL the records in the wage rate codes file.

Proceed

You are asked if you want to proceed with creating the wage rate codes report listing.

Select "Yes" to generate the report.

Select "No" to return to the codes option prompt.

Press <ESC> to abort this report procedure and return to the wage codes maintenance options menu.

If "Yes", the wage rate code report listing is generated.
